Zug & Associates, Ltd. is a full-service structural engineering consulting firm serving clients throughout Southeastern and South Central Pennsylvania. Our experience comprises a variety of projects, including commercial, industrial, residential and municipal facilities. Our expertise spans a variety of engineering disciplines, including historic renovation, adaptive reuse analysis and design and expert testimony/forensic engineering.
We’re proud of our reputation for innovative, high-quality and aesthetically pleasing work. From a preliminary design to detailed structural engineering, we pay particular attention to the economy and constructability of our structures. Our hands-on experience in the field has allowed us to provide our clients with a common sense approach that owners and contractors have come to respect.
Zug & Associates, Ltd. has over 30 years of experience in the structural design of steel, masonry, wood, precast and cast-in-place concrete. Our knowledge of foundation design, gravity and lateral systems provides our clients with a quality product time and again.

Meet Our Team
Thomas L. Zug, P.E., President
With more than 30 years of experience in civil and structural engineering, Tom has extensive expertise in the areas of building evaluation, design, construction management and structural rehabilitation. As president of Zug & Associates, Ltd., Tom is responsible for the complete management of the firm. He is personally engaged in each project, drawing upon his depth of knowledge and experience to devise practical solutions for his clients.
Throughout his career, Tom has earned numerous awards for his work on projects including Hospice of Lancaster County, Calvary Fellowship Homes and Penn Manor High School. Tom is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University and has earned professional certifications from Lehigh University, University of Delaware, University of Wisconsin and several others.
Tom is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Institute of Steel Construction, American Concrete Institute and American Forest and Paper Association.
Jill Brown, Marketing Director
Jill explores new opportunities to serve our clients and fulfill the structural engineering needs of architects, construction companies and residential clients.
With a solid background in communications, marketing and public relations, Jill is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a degree in Business Administration.
Farewell to Lilly
For many years, Lilly was our precious purring paperweight and mouse security officer. She has moved on to the great litter box in the sky, and we miss her sweet presence at Z & A.
Meet Duffy, our CFO . . . Chief Furry Officer
Often found guarding the current projects' files, Duffy is a loyal Tibetan Terrier with springs in his feet and joy in his heart. His mission statement? To serve as a frequent reminder that time spent with a dog is never wasted.
